Reflecting on Teamwork and Purpose: The Consult Group Heli Hike for KSS
As another week draws to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on an achievement that fills us with immense pride. On Saturday, 20th September, teams from across Consult Group, including Consult Construct, Consult Sustain, and Consult LDN, came together to participate in the Heli Hike, a special event in support of the Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS).
It was a day defined by teamwork, positive energy, and a shared sense of purpose. Walking together through the Kent countryside, we were reminded of the power of community and the importance of supporting the life-saving services that operate in our region. We are incredibly proud to have played a small part in raising awareness and vital funds for such an incredible cause.
Walking for a Vital Cause: Supporting Air Ambulance Charity KSS
The Heli Hike was more than just a walk; it was an opportunity to actively support an organisation that performs miracles every day. The Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex provides world-class, pre-hospital emergency medical care 24/7. When a person's life is on the line, the KSS team can be there within minutes, delivering critical interventions that are often the difference between life and death.
Operating almost entirely on public donations, the charity needs to raise millions each year to keep its helicopters in the air and its medical teams ready to respond. Each mission is funded by the generosity of the community it serves. By participating in the Heli Hike, our goal was to contribute to this essential funding stream and show our solidarity with the pilots, doctors, paramedics, and support staff who work tirelessly to save lives.
The funds raised help cover the costs of fuel, medical equipment, and the extensive training required to ensure the KSS team can handle the most complex and critical emergencies.
A Day of Teamwork and Positivity
The event itself was a fantastic experience. Colleagues from different divisions of Consult Group united, swapping their usual work settings for hiking boots and the great outdoors. The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and encouragement as we covered the distance together.
This shared experience reinforced one of our core values at Consult Group: the power of collaboration. Tackling the hike as a unified team mirrored the way we approach our projects—with dedication, mutual support, and a focus on achieving a common goal. It was a brilliant opportunity to strengthen bonds outside of the office and connect on a more personal level, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
We believe that our responsibility extends beyond the built environment and into the communities we are part of. Giving back is a fundamental aspect of our company culture, and events like the HeliHike provide a meaningful way for our team to make a tangible impact.
