We are looking for a Health & Safety Adviser & Principal Designer to join our growing team. This role offers a genuine alternative to London-based consultancy life, combining high-quality, varied projects with a better work-life balance.
Working within a small, collaborative team, you’ll have real influence - shaping design decisions, advising clients and embedding best practice from concept through to completion.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
• Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015
• Advising clients on their statutory duties
• Preparing and managing Pre-Construction Information
• Developing and maintaining Design Risk Registers
• Reviewing design information to eliminate and reduce risk
• Reviewing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans
• Carrying out site inspections and audits
• Preparing and reviewing Health & Safety Files
Who This Role Would Suit
This role would suit someone who is:
• Looking to step away from a London-based role and seeking better balance
• Based in Kent or the surrounding areas and looking to build their career closer to home
• Early in their career (c.1–2+ years’ experience) and ready to develop, or
• An experienced professional seeking more autonomy and influence
• Motivated by variety and enjoys working across different projects, including travel across the UK
About You
• Experience in a Principal Designer or Health & Safety advisory role
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 (or developing knowledge)
• NEBOSH Construction (or working towards)
• Confident communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach
• Able to work collaboratively with clients and design teams
